          About Bentley ELKS

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 8:00 p.m. except for July and August in the Oxford School building next door to the Municipal Office.  This building, though owned by the Town, has been upgraded by the Bentley Elks through the years.  Our funding has provided new windows, new roof and a complete upgrade to the interior so that the Elks and Royal Purple have a comfortable building for their meetings.

Our Lodge has helped the Town upgrade the main street park by providing funding and manpower for moving the playground equipment to the rear of the main street lot for the safety of the children and re-designed the front of the lot into an attractive park for the use of the community and visitors alike.

Our Projects

Through the years we have contributed to the municipal campground, helped with the development of two new ball diamonds and washroom facility, upgrades to the arena through the years, purchased “Elks” pucks for the Pond Hockey league, “Elks” soccer balls for the players and each year provides funding for student school awards.  Our Lodge also contributed funding to Westview Apartments, a senior complex in our community, to help with a common room addition.  Funding for several  individuals has been provided through applications to the Purple Cross for Children which give our Lodge a great deal of satisfaction because we are able to help those who really need and appreciate it.  ISTAR support is also given each year by our Lodge.

 Our Fund Raising

We receive funding through casinos but do hold at least one bingo on November 11th each year to help add to our bank account.  We also provide concession manpower during the annual rodeo in August to raise funds and do very well with this project.  This seems to be the one time when we do not have any trouble getting volunteers from outside our Lodge because of the “fun” we have.   We also take our Lodge float to area parades.

Besides fundraising, our Lodge holds a golf tournament each summer for Lodge members and friends and in December reward ourselves with an “adult only” Christmas dinner for Lodge members and spouses.  This is our way to say “thank you” to not only ourselves for the hard work over the year but to our spouses for allowing us to give back to our communities.

We welcome new members to join us by completing the attached application form and turning it in to one of the above-mentioned contacts.
