About
Alberta ELKS

Patrol Team Competition High Prairie
We are an organization dedicated to the
benefit and welfare of others, wherever there is need for charity
or public service. Individual Lodge members are part of a Canada-wide
fraternity of service and friendship; In short, we are really "people
helping people".
Our history shows how a band of earnest,
sincere and unselfish individuals established and maintained an
institution of which the principle objectives were the welfare of
its members and the "common good" of the people, as a
whole. The Elks of Canada were formed under federal charter May
16th 1913 with the national office now located in Regina. The national
office then grants the charters for subordinate lodges. These lodges
form the base for our entire order with the focus on local community
projects worked on by local volunteers.
Over the years these local lodges were
then grouped into Associations. Our own Alberta Elks Association
was formed on May 24, 1928 .Member Lodges of the Alberta Elks Association
annually contribute in excess of $3 Million for the betterment of
our communities, in both financial support and volunteer hours.
The Alberta Elks Association encompasses
communities throughout Alberta, SE and NE corners of BC and the
Yukon Territory. The Alberta Elks Association also participates
in recreational activities for the enjoyment of their membership.
Curling, darts, golf and camping to name a few. |
